Introducing Issue 24 of 10 Magazine Australia: RISING, RENEW, RENAISSANCE.

EDITOR'S LETTER

Renaissance women, rise up. In our world it feels as though we are all constantly evolving – looking to create something breathtaking and memorable. That’s part of the fashion/10 DNA, something that Sophia, our global editor-in-chief and founder of 10, 10 Men and 10 +, has always championed. This December she will receive a Special Recognition Award at the British Fashion Awards at the Royal Albert Hall. It will honour her outstanding contribution to the fashion industry and is a tribute to Sophia’s 30 years at the forefront of creativity. We first worked together at a newspaper in London in the late 1980s. I was looking for an assistant and she called out of the blue – the rest is history and we’ve gone on to work together for most of the past three decades.

Sophia has the best sense of humour; she never gives up; she is inspiring, funny, clever; and she has supported the fashion industry unfailingly. Last year 10 USA put out its first issue – this September 10 Japan launches and, in March, 10 Deutsch will take flight. All driven by Sophia’s raw energy. Sophia is always striving to create incredible images – perhaps what underscores her eye or vision is her passionate belief that women should always be pictured at their strongest, and it is this strength that has set our world of 10 apart. We never give up. And so in the spirit of this, I’d like to thank everyone who has supported us or contributed to the issue in Australia, and overseas, who came along for the ride and brought their very best for us. And to you, the reader, for still buying print and living the dream.
