Hedi Slimane is talking to us. We love what Hedi does at Celine and his reference this season to the writer Francoise Sagan resonated. One of our favourite books is Bonjour Tristesse. The collection simply called “A French Summer” and presented via black and white film and campaign - recalled all the feels of a sixties summer: short summer coats; A-line miniskirts; school skirts; blouses; and the best hand embroidered Jane Birkin crochet dresses.

The workmanship on the pieces included handcrafted two tone feathers, and lacquered flowers with crystals. Lots of intricate detail. We felt a bit cheated as there wasn’t a show and but then Mr Slimane at Celine has always walked to his own beat. His vision is super French and all encompassing: he's continued to evolve and lift the house with a slew of fragrances and now  cosmetics. Celine by Hedi Slimane is the whole package
