HERMÈS: AW25
“She takes a stride. Determined. She moves forward, never looks back. She has everything she needs”
It was International women’s day and this was all about the Hermès boss Lady. Dressed in quilted leather shorts, ankle grazing coats and layers of goodness including cashmere turtlenecks, she was determined. This was a top notch no nonsense wardrobe - get the job done dust off the gloves, feet on the desk, blow the smoke from the barrel. We loved the functionality of this collection the true nature and simplicity of strong pieces that will last. These are the butter soft yet tought jackets, bags, and coats, that get passed down through the generations.
Nadège Vanhee, the artistic director of womenswear is always forward facing, not often referencing from the past, but more a sense of the DNA, of the history of Hermes, one that was established in 1967 by Catherine Karolyi. She created the H buckle on our favourite belt. We’ve had ours for 25 years. H is for heirloom but most importantly hereafter. Nadège brings that to Hermès.
