HERMÉS: SS25

“Into the workshop.” Spring Summer '25 turned out to be everything we love about Hermès that is just so clever at pressing all the pleasure points. The workshop was the premise, offered by a collection featuring the seams and details of a Birkin bag worn on the outside; camel or rooibos leather pockets and shoulder panels nodding to Petit H on gaberdine pants and jackets; quilted leather bomber jackets cut short and cropped; and an apron dress with bands of organdy. The silk mesh underpinnings tapped right into the various states of undress and deshabille that is driving through the season - but this was modern and sleek with a sense of sport in the hands of Nadege.

Refreshingly this was about showing off a body that has seen plenty of resistance training and showcasing curves too, with a great casting lineup. Transparent silk pants added layers to some of the looks and a sense of softness. It was a terrific collection, and up close the next day at the re-see the details were revealed: a magazine bag bristled with horsehair; a dainty basket slyly shaped like a hoof; drawstrings hidden inside leather work jackets and a workroom full of amazing Hermes objets. “Late to bed, back before the sunrises”... as we say, our kind of collection.
