FENDI: AW25
We love the idea of a collection built on memories especially those of Silvia Venturini Fendi who designed AW25/26. What a family, what a life in fashion. The house is celebrating 100 years in 2025 and so those memories and details ran rich with Fendi history, with nods of course to Karl Lagerfeld who designed for over five decades with the family. The show was opened by Dardo and Tazio, the 7-year-old twin sons of Delfina Delettrez Fendi (who designs the fabulous Fendi fine jewels) and Nico Vascellari. Each wore a replica of an equestrian inspired look designed by Lagerfeld and worn by a 7-year-old Silvia Venturini Fendi in 1967. Full circle.
The collection was bristling with bags including the new Fendi Giano moon shape, alongside the Fendi Peekaboo Soft and Fendi Mamma Baguette - our favourite dripping with disco sequins. We loved the lightness of the intricate chantilly lace work and a set of three dresses fringed with tulle and fingernail sequins these were evening sensuous. Silvia does sensuality so well. If anything they referenced the 1920s.
The casting reflected the history with a lineup of models including the legendary Penelope Tree, Yasmin Le Bon, Carolyn Murphy, Saskia de Brauw, Lennon Sorrenti, and Amelia Gray, with Sarah Jessica Parker sitting front row. The show space has been transformed from its super linear days and the set with its lush carpet and neon swirls of lights added to the sense of a decadent party and perfect for now. No heavy nostalgia here - this was forward facing Fendi, informed and fresh.
