GUCCI: SS24
Paint the town Sabato-red, the new era at Gucci has arrived. Inside the Gucci Hub, lights were low and the sounds of Mark Ronson’s Late Night Prelude (from his hit album Late Night Feelings) ushered in mini dresses with flashes of neon orange and lime green, bejewelled and badass; slouchy low-rise denim paired perfectly with backless tops; tailored jackets worn with matching mini shorts; and Sabato’s new colour for the house - a rich, deep cherry red - was the hero on gleaming patent leather blazers, small Jackie bags and slit skirts
This was very much a collection for late night feelings: joy, freedom and desire. “It’s a story of joy of life, of passion, of humanity, of people, of real life, of irreverent glamour… it’s a story of music and nights out, of sweat, dancing and singing,” he wrote ahead of the show. Sabato loves a nightclub, as he mentioned in an earlier interview with Vanessa Friedman, and so here he presented a lineup of hits for his Gucci girls, super cool and confident. Let’s dance.
