GUCCI: SS25

It was some kind of sunset, as we sat bathed in an orange to deep red glow watching Gucci unfold. “t’s the moment the sun dives into the sea at the end of an August day. It’s the moment we find ourselves…" This was the moment Sabato De Sarno found himself at the Triannale and we found ourselves wanting. The shopping list was bristling with Gucci 73 bucket bags and one-off bamboo 1947 bags.

This newfound Gucci energy recalled the sixties, inspired by words used to describe one of the big G’s most iconic clients - Jackie Onassis, of course, and her inspiring “casual grandeur”. It appealed to our sense of casual glamour in the neat cut of an A-line coat, nicely puffed out shorts, deep bucket hats and head scarves. Two fringed tailored coats were loaded with great technique and a punchy fresh GG monogram exploded on teeny tiny matching mini skirts and accessories. The rustle of silver palettes added crunch and more reflective glamour. The star standout looks were the last few floor length coats with oversize jeans and tanks.

The front row was packed with all the Guccified celebs, including Dakota Johnson, whom we love, Kirsten Dunst, Jannick Sinner stretching his hamstrings and a new slew of Internet Gucci girls including Gabbriette, Nara Smith and 10 Magazine cover star Amelia Dimoldenberg. And the show was held for Solange. SS25 had good Gucci energy with a sense of summer optimism. We loved it.
