MIU MIU: SS25

A printing press running. Pages from The Truthless Times drying on a moving factory rail above us all by the award winning artist Goshka Macuga. At the Miu Miu show we were plunged right in to the heart of Miuccia Prada’s very own propaganda machine. A film too with, multi disciplinary with a nod to the 13 years of Miu Miu’s Women’s Tales. This was one of the stand out collections of the SS25 season for so many reasons - thoughtfulness, attention to detail, exploration, curiosity, the clever casting spanning youth, fame, age, gender and the clothes, ah the clothes so many possibilities for all our wardrobes.

For the past few years our Miu Miu girl has been playing it super youthful in micro pleated skirts, knickers and jumpers. She has grown up abit now and the collection had a renewed slew of beautiful pieces that offered more depth to her wardrobe as she becomes a woman. And so there there was a clever mix, (artfully jumbled) of rolled sleeve shirts and jumpers, pleated skirts, chemisette dresses, sparkles threaded throughout and a mix of great multi coloured sneakers in pastels. Tiny bomber jackets and wrapped bodices.

Mrs Prada’s sense of colour is unique she can put mustard with blancmange pink and sky blue - and make it sing. It made us sing and pray for our bank accounts. Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban, 16, opened the show in a simple white cotton dress; Hilary Swank, 50, came out hot on her heels in chocolate leather belted coat and pink slides and Willem Dafoe closed in layers of Prada navy blue and grey. It was terrific.
