PRADA PARTNERS WITH NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC
Prada is continuing their committment to sustainability with a new Re-Nylon collection. This season, actors and activitis Emma Watson and Benedict Cumberbatch are photographed by Willy Vanderperre decked out in fresh Re-Nylon. The 2024 Re-Nylon collection is made from regenerated nylon created through the recycling and purification of plastics collection from the ocean and from landfills. As of July 2023, 1% of proceeds from these timeless classic Re-Nylon pieces support SEA BEYOND, the educational program launched in 2019 by Prada Group and UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC).
The collection also marks the continuation of the Prada Group's ongoing partnership with UNESCO for ocean preervation, and National Geographic Creative Works to expand the Prada Re-Nylon process film series that debuted in 2019. Now, these films feature National Geographic photographers and explorers who adventure into the fertile islands of the Indian ocean to explore the loss of coral reefs, as well as the Arctic to examine how human life effects the environment, and also the Mediterranean ocean, highlighting the detrimental repercussions on its fishing communities.
