TEN QUESTIONS WITH PARIS TEXAS

|
Written By:

Who wanna rock? Who wanna roll? Paris Texas does. The LA-based duo is back with their debut album MID AIR, an adrenaline-filled, hilarious, raw adventure through the world of Louie and Felix. Working with notable producers including Dilip, Gianluca Buccellati and Matt Cohn, Paris Texas have solidified their sound. The project is one of our favourites of the year, so we spoke to the duo about creating the album and what's inspiring them:

We’re obsessed with the album. How does it feel to have it released in the world? Why ‘MID AIR’?

Felix: "Thank you! It feels good man. I know we’re really proud of what we did. Although, it feels like we’re not done just yet haha. MID AIR speaks to where we are now. We goin up frfr."

Louie: "Yeah thank you guys. Feels like a weight off my shoulders, I was worried for a split second if it would hit the fans the same way I felt making it."

What was your intention with this album? What did you go into it hoping to achieve?

Felix: "Our focused intention was to double down on what people know us for. Just truly flushing out the sound. I went into it hoping to just have a good performance."

Louie: "I went in trying to prove to myself that we belong where we were at for real."

Who did you work with that inspired and helped shape the sound?

Felix: "A few friends, our guy Dilip, M, and some other close friends of ours."

Is there a song you’re most proud of on the album?

Felix: "It’s hard. I’ll say Ain’t No High."

Louie: "Lana Del Rey."

What have you guys learnt about each other through the process of creating MID AIR?

Felix: "I’ve learned just how much Louie juggles between writing and producing."

Louie: "I’ve learned I’m an ego-maniac."

How do you think you’ve evolved sonically since BOY ANONYMOUS?

Felix: "Oh man. I think Louie could speak more to that. As an observer I would say shit hittin’ hard fr."

Louie: "I say the production got way more intense and set in stone. I think we really carved out our lane."

And how do you think you’ve evolved personally since then?

Felix: "I can’t really tell if I have at the moment. I hope so? I feel like I know when to draw back sometimes and like removing certain moments in a song or lines, etc."

Louie: "I learn to put my dick in the beat."

What’s inspiring you currently? What have you been listening to, reading, watching etc.

Felix: "Been inspired by a lot of skate videos. Listening to just a lot of wild varieties of music. I just be taking the songs and going."

Louie: "I’ve been reading bell hooks and some graphic novels."

Best place to listen to MID AIR for the first time in full?

Felix: "Best place to listen to the album is in your room. Clean your room and make sure you got some open space and just blast it on the best speakers you got."

Louie: "If you got a car with somewhat fucked up speakers and that bass be rattling your car frame, play it in there."

What’s next for Paris Texas?

Felix: "I’ma beat Red Dead Redemption 2."

Louie: "I’m going to lose my virginity finally."
