The countdown to the Fashion Awards 2024 begins. Set to take place December 2 at the Royal Albert Hall, the excitement around fashion’s glitziest night of the year continues to grow as designer nominations are announced and honorary award winners are unveiled (with our very own Sophia Neophitou-Apostolou being honoured for her outstanding contribution to the fashion industry with the Special Recognition Award).

It’s also a night to celebrate fresh talent bursting out the capital and beyond, as the British Fashion Council reveals the 50 talents part of this year’s New Wave: Creatives cohort. Commenting on the announcement, the BFC’s chief exec’, Caroline Rush says, “New Wave: Creatives is an invaluable platform for recognising and celebrating the diverse talents shaping the future of fashion, the community beyond the designers and creative directors. These emerging artists, often working behind the scenes, are redefining creativity across multiple disciplines and transforming the way fashion is experienced globally. The 2024 cohort represents an exciting new generation with innovative and diverse perspectives that are key to the industry’s evolution. We can’t wait to celebrate their contributions this December.”

An international catalogue highlighting the BFC’s picks for innovative and inspiring young creatives, the list includes set designers, artists, casting directors, stylists, photographers, make-up artists, hairstylists and art directors.  Recognisable names include the likes of Erika Kamano (who lensed Central Cee for the cover of Dazed), Mika Safro (the brains behind this beautiful, Bowery-esque look) and Caspar Kofi (whose roster of clients includes Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co. and Giorgio Armani).
