THE ROW: AW25

|
Written By:

In the world of The Row, who needs shoes when your look says it all? That was the motto behind Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s latest Paris show, where all 33 models sauntered through the cream-carpeted show space in woolly tights, sans shoes. Not a heel in sight, nor a flat. The atmosphere was homely and relaxed, with many guests huddled on the floor or stood in corridors as models like Eva Herzigova and Mona Tougaard paraded as if they were mooching around their own humble abodes.

The Row has never been a brand that’s had to shout to make noise, and this season’s cocooning opera coats, woollen suit jackets and cropped leather trenches will undoubtedly delight its loyal legion of devotees. Compared to previous The Row shows, there was an overarching element of restraint here, stripping garments back to their bare bones. Like delightfully plain apron dresses that twisted beautifully at the shoulder, or white shirts that were thrown under high-necked jumpers. When it comes to crafting calm elegance, the design pair are maestros.
