Pride month is here and according to Balenciaga, anybody is queer. The message is one of diversity and inclusivity, proving that there is not a typical look for someone who falls into the categories of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, or queer. Through a series of photos and videos by Patrick Welde, a diverse cast decked out in skin-tight tops, baggy hoodies, graphic tees, caps, scarves, socks and graphic jewellery inspired by gendered symbols made manifest by a skirt and pants – all of which of course suit Balenciaga’s quintessential silhouette.

While in some places a chart of international inclusivity flags are featured, there are also exclusive iterations of the Pool Slide, the Track Sneaker and some gym shorts. Each has rainbow colour accents which function as a visual aid to Balenciaga’s history of promoting LGBTQIA+ visibility and acceptance. Plus, 15% of profits from the offering will be donated to Outright Action International, a critical LGBTQIA+ advocate organisation — the only of its kind with consultative status and a permanent presence at the United Nations Headquarters.
