QUEEN ELIZABETH II: 1926 - 2022

Immortal. Our Queen. An incredible reign. A woman leading. A nation mourning.

Impeccably dressed. The three quarter coat, gloves, empty handbag save for a marmalade sandwich and comfortable meticulously made Anello and Davide shoes. A heavy crown. Garrard & Co.  That diamond tiara. A wealth of duty. A life so rich with experience, giving, loving, laughing. Striving to do the right thing. Making mistakes. A walk in Hunter wellies. A cardigan on the lawn. The exact cut of a collar. A kilt in the heather. All those silk satin dinners, sashes, knight of the garter. A weighted chiffon. A wicked whisper of laughter. A tam o shanter. A fine veil. A ship in full sail. Pink. Green. Lemon. A shock of red. The subtle shade of a Fulton umbrella one in every colour under the sun, for the rain. Decades of tailoring. A lifetime of joy. A reassurance that we can get through whatever, the worst and best of it. A three-strand of the finest pearls, two pearls gifted to her every year by her father King George VI. Worn always close to her heart. An Hermès scarf. Riding high. The joy of it all. The legacy in abundance. We give thanks.
