Apple Music continues to dominate streaming with the launch of DJ Mixes. A revolutionary new sphere inside the world of Apple Music will feature thousands of DJ mixes. Quite honestly, groundbreaking. Following the acquisition of Shazam in 2018, Apple Music has worked with Shazam’s clever technology to identify and compensate the individual creators involved in making mixes. This marks the first time where DJ mixes will have long term monetary value for those involved. Notable mixes already available on the platform include Honey Dijon, Funk Flex, Charlotte de Witte DJ Clue, Tomorrowland and the legendary Boiler Room. “…It’s a step in the right direction where everyone gets treated fairly,” says de Witte. “I’m beyond excited to have the chance to provide online mixes again. There’s a different approach to it compared to playing a peak time set in a club or at a festival. It enables me to, without any limits, offer an insight in my music collection.” We love to hear it.
