PRADA PRESENTS MADE IN PRADA

Prada is giving us a closer look at the star of the SS25 womenswear collection: the futuristic, silver sequinned dress. In this Reflections on Craft, the brand is demonstrating the savoir faire behind the dress, which included 24 hours of work, including 16 hours of construction, as well as 2700 embroidery components including 144 mirrors and 2500 crystals.
The process began with an ultralight nude tulle upon which silver sequins were mechanically attached with a transparent thread. The manual embroidery began for the second layer, interspersing crystals in a specific sequence to create a subtle floral pattern. The dress was then cut and shaped onto the mannequin before the lining and ironing process. See the Prada procedure in the gallery below:
